Aliza Bin-Noun

Former Ambassador of the State of Israel, Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Biography

Ambassador Aliza Bin-Noun is a distinguished Israeli diplomat with more than three decades of service in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She currently serves as the Political Director (2022–2025), having previously held the positions of Deputy Director General for European Affairs (2021) and Deputy Director General for African Affairs (2020).

From 2015 to 2019 she was Israel’s Ambassador to France and Monaco, following her tenure as Ambassador to Hungary between 2007 and 2011. Earlier, she headed the Diplomatic Bureau of the Minister of Foreign Affairs (2012–2015) and the Division for International Affairs at the MFA’s Center for Political Research (2006–2007). She also served as Head of the Coordination Department in the Director General’s Bureau (2003–2006) and as Diplomatic Adviser to the Director General (2000–2003). Abroad, she was posted as Political Counselor at the Embassy of Israel in Denmark (1995–1999).

At the beginning of her career, Ambassador Bin-Noun served as Second Secretary at the Embassy of Israel in Eswatini (1989–1993) and in the MFA’s Economic Department (1988–1989). She joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1986 as a cadet and advanced through several strategic and economic roles before assuming senior leadership positions.

Ambassador Bin-Noun holds a Master’s degree in African Studies and Bachelor’s degrees in International Relations and in French Language and Culture, all from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
