History

Established in May 2025, the Ludovika Public Diplomacy Hub is a flagship initiative of the Ludovika University of Public Service. It was created with the purpose of enhancing Hungary’s international visibility and promoting meaningful, value-driven dialogue on key global issues.

Inspired by the university’s commitment to public service and international cooperation, the Hub blends the structure of a fellowship program with the dynamism of a public policy platform. From its inception, it has welcomed distinguished guests — public figures, former diplomats, academics, and thought leaders — for short-term residencies in Budapest.

Throughout its history, the Hub has been dedicated to fostering intellectual exchange through public lectures, closed-door policy roundtables, student mentoring, and collaborative research. It has served as a space where diverse global perspectives can meet, explore, and challenge ideas on sovereignty, security, freedom of expression, and diplomacy in a rapidly changing world.

Since its foundation, the Hub has contributed to shaping international discourse and building strong partnerships by promoting Hungary’s strategic narratives and empowering both Hungarian and international future leaders.
